We are thrilled to introduce you to this week’s student, Preston Leach. Leach is a graduate of Bartlett High School and currently works as an AFLAC sales associate in Germantown. Leach is in his second course within the Tech901 Academy. He hopes to gain more in-depth knowledge of a broad range of IT components, as well as opening the door to new career path options.
Leach finds technology advancements to be the most fascinating element in the sector. “Technology is responsible for advancement in all industries to improve and implement their findings,” Leach shares, “The world relies on technology.”
Additionally, he is very interested in breaking into the wide world of coding. Preston learned about Cook Systems through the Tech901 website. Cook Systems offers a FastTrack’D program to jumpstart the careers of future programmers. While studying for the A+ and Network+ certifications, Preston is in the application process for the esteemed program based here in Memphis.
As a native Memphian and huge basketball fan, Leach is currently a mentor through the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation’s TEAM UP Youth Mentoring program.
Taking advantage of the sprawling acres of Shelby Farms Park with his dog in tow is one of Leach’s favorite local activities. When in Downtown Memphis, a stop at Flight Restaurant and Wine Bar or Loflin Yard is on the agenda, and the Flying Saucer in Cordova is one of Leach’s favorite hot spots.
