Memphis, TN – May 1, 2017 Tech901 announced a new multi-year certification test voucher scholarship program funded by recent FedEx Corporation and Regions Bank Foundation grants. The scholarships significantly expand the support for Tech901 students by further expanding the affordability, and therefore accessibility, to available new careers in the information technology industry.
Tech901’s scholarship program will substantially reduce the certification costs for students in the CompTIA and Cisco courses as they prepare for information technology careers.   The Tech901 scholarship is now available to all Tech901 students who demonstrate a commitment to the work in effort, and a mastery of the content by scoring 75% or better on representative practice tests.

Tech901 offers three career track programs. The IT Hardware Technician program for manufacturing, repair and recycling positions and the Tech901 Fellow certificate program for IT operational positions and the new Code 1.0, Introduction to Computer Science offers an introduction to coding (a certification exam is not required.)

Tech901 Fellow Certificate Program

A cornerstone of Tech901’s offerings is its Tech901 Fellow program. Based on the input of local CIOs and managers, Tech901 offers four certification courses that combined prepare Memphians as recognized generalists for IT operations careers. Core operating support from local foundations enables Tech901 to economically open IT career paths by charging between $100 and $250 for the four courses that each have market prices in the $2,500 - $3,000 range. However, to secure the four represented certifications, Fellow students would be required to purchase test vouchers with a market rate of $1,189. This new scholarship will reduce the voucher cost for qualifying students to $364, a 69% reduction to market rates

IT Hardware Technician

Tech901’s IT Hardware Technician program is a partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Memphis to train high school graduates for immediate IT logistic and manufacturing positions. Tech901 charges a $50 course fee but students would need to purchase vouchers with a full market value of $525 to certify in both the CompTIA IT Fundamentals and A+ certifications. This Tech901 program will now offer FREE initial CompTIA IT Fundamentals and A+ test vouchers to qualifying IT Hardware Technician students.
