# Student Highlight: Monica Miller

**Over the summer, we will highlight a student weekly from our certification courses at the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis. Tech901 is excited to shine some light on one student weekly. Enjoy!**
A senior at [Christian Brothers University](http://cbu.edu), majoring in Management Information Systems, Monica Miller joins Tech901 in both of [our certification courses](https://blog.tech901.org/tech901-launches-first-summer-course-at-the-u-of-m) this summer. Like many of our students, she hopes to gain IT skills and expand her knowledge of the wide world of technology. Becoming [A+ and Net+ certified](http://tech901.org/tech901-academy) will help Monica get her foot in the door and take advantage of Memphis tech jobs.
During the ongoing Network+ course, Monica finds subnetting and binary math the most interesting material, so far. "There are so many opportunities in technology because it is always changing and really innovative," she shares. Her favorite tech gadget is her Apple iPhone, but she would love to purchase a PS4.
A lifelong Memphian, Monica roots for the [Memphis Grizzlies](http://www.nba.com/grizzlies/) and loves catching games with her friends. Her favorite player? Captain Clutch himself, Mike Conley. Before the games, you can find Monica at her favorite local restaurant, [Xquisite](http://www.yelp.com/biz/xquisite-memphis).
