You will only find it on the Academy schedule once a year, but IT Project at Tech901 is one of the most versatile offerings. With no pre-requisite required, students from all backgrounds and experiences can take part in an 8-week course with unique career boosting opportunities. Since much of the IT world revolves around various-sized projects, this training course provides an excellent foundation for nearly all IT roles from software development to help-desk support to network and security architects. The CompTIA Project+ certification  prep course can benefit those in all areas of tech or non-tech related fields. Graduates of IT Project include Tech901 Alumni employed as Burn-in Specialists, Help Desk Support Specialists, Business Services Analysts, etc. Understanding the project life-cycle and having the Project+ certification on your resume helps you stand out from other applicants in almost any role.

Don't just take our word for  it! Hear it straight from Tech901 grad, Tecia Marshall.Project + has allowed me to match up formal project management processes with what I was already doing in my every day work life as an educator and in other areas and I.T. related projects that I manage. On a daily basis, my experience helps me with multi-tasking, task delegation, it has helped me to be more aware of my available resources for specific projects and time management as well.

My favorite aspect of all the Tech901 classes that I have taken (A+, Net+ and Project+) is that there are so many backgrounds represented in each class. So many age groups, so many divisions of I.T. and so there are so many perspectives we've all been able to learn from and use in our career decisions and even life decisions.

Learning to use effective communication, manage resources and stakeholders, implement and monitor schedules, along with project documentation are all pivotal job skills. Like Tecia mentioned above, one of the most beneficial parts of IT Project is joining the Tech901 community. Enrolling in a course is not just limited to classroom instruction. You have the resources and guidance of the full Tech901 team through resume review, student-only career fairs, speed dating with hiring employers, professional headshots, alumni events and more.
