Written by Robert Montague | 6/3/16 8:00 PM

Tech901 teams up with the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis to offer our first CompTIA A+ course of the summer at the University of Memphis.  Forty-eight students at varying stages in life will boot up their computers, diving deep into the world of information technology.

The A+ certification is globally recognized and will provide the students with the necessary skills to succeed in the tech industry. Security, networking, and operating systems are just a few of the branches covered in the intensive series.  Tech901’s class at the U of M will contain some of the first 900 series A+ certified professionals in the country..

Antoinette Miller, Academy Director of Tech901, is ready to prepare the students to not only pass the course, but the students will be qualified to enter the workforce with plenty of hands-on experience.  Miller, along with lead instructor Briahna Chambers, will teach the course Monday through Thursday, from 9-3, providing rigorous course work to deliver the knowledge needed to take the corresponding certification exam.

Diversity in technology is a much needed stride and the student roster is full of college students, adults with careers, job seekers, and IT professionals from all over the Memphis area and beyond.

Powering the future of Memphis technology, Tech901 strives to make these classes available free of charge for the betterment of individuals, their families, and the community at large.
