Over the summer, we will highlight a student weekly from our CompTIA A+ certification course at the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis.  Our class is comprised of forty-eight tech-driven individuals who are eager to learn, and Tech901 is excited to shine some light on one student weekly. Enjoy!

This week, we would like to introduce you to Jonathan Hampton.  Employed as an Import Agent at FedEx Trade Networks, Hampton has called Memphis home for the past sixteen years.

“I’ve grown up in the boom of technology and have realized that it’s a natural part of who I am,” he shares.  Hampton plans to take this passion for technology and validate it with multiple certifications and further education in IT towards a career path with limitless possibilities.  His first step? Preparing for the CompTIA A+ certification test in our summer course.Constantly impressed with the sheer power of technology, Hampton is really interested in learning more about how tech can shape and influence life.  “It’s the fact that it can be your worst enemy or greatest ally, depending on what side of it you choose to be,” he explains, “I’ve chosen to make technology my friend and look to it to create and find more efficient ways to get things done.”

Spoken like a true Memphis fan, Hampton loves grabbing a treat from Jerry’s Sno Cones before catching a Grizzlies or Redbirds game.  You could find him strolling through Harbor Town along the Mississippi River or checking out the 360 degree view of Memphis from atop the Bass Pro Shops Landing Deck.

Thanks for sharing your story, Jonathan!
