Student Highlight: Juliette and Tammy Sneed

Written by Bekah McDuffie | 6/28/16 4:00 PM

Over the summer, we will highlight a student weekly from our CompTIA A+ certification course at the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis.  Our class is comprised of forty-eight tech-driven individuals who are eager to learn, and Tech901 is excited to shine some light on one student weekly. Enjoy!

This week we have a special mother-daughter student highlight.  Tammy Sneed and her daughter, Juliette, are enrolled in both sessions of our summer courses.

Tammy has a MBA from the University of California-Berkeley and a BA from Smith College, with experience as a Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing and Supply Management.  Through the course, Tammy hopes to gain an in depth knowledge of all the inner workings of computer hardware, while building a strong foundation with her CompTIA A+, Security+, and Network+ certifications.

Juliette, a current undergrad at Louisiana State University, wants a better understanding of computing foundations and general IT knowledge to support her in her future in Agricultural Business.  Like mother, like daughter, both women are fascinated with the progressions made in the technology field.

From dining at the newest restaurant to cheering at a Grizzlies game, the Sneeds also both appreciate the strong, rich culture of Memphis.  We can agree that there is no shortage of fun activities in our city! Juliette and Tammy love checking out local tours and museums, various music festivals, and World Famous Beale Street.  Aldo’s Pizza Pies, Itta Bena, and Muddy’s Bake Shop are also on the top of the list for must-have delicacies.

Thanks for sharing, Juliette and Tammy!
