Over the summer, we will highlight a student weekly from our certification courses at the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis. Tech901 is excited to shine some light on one student weekly. Enjoy!

Dalton Hendrix joins Tech901 as the first CompTIA A+ certified student from our pilot class at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Memphis.  As the valedictorian of the BGC class, Dalton continues his Tech901 journey in the Network+ class this summer.  Like many of our students, Dalton hopes to gain experience and much needed certifications to be well equipped for a future career in the technology field.  After watching the video above, you can see that students like Dalton are a great fit for a Tech901 course.  Providing knowledge and support outside of a traditional college education, Tech901 can give students the skills and IT training needed for an in-demand job.

Dalton finds technology advancements to be the most exciting aspect of future of the IT field.  "Technology is changing every day of our lives with new ideas bringing forth things people would never believe possible," he shares, "Just look back in time to where we were 30 years ago. Memory storage was ginormous and computers spanned entire rooms.  Fast forward to now,  you see how we have more technology in our pocket than our great-grandparents did in their entire lives."

As a life-long Memphian, Dalton has a list of fun city traditions.  He cites the Memphis Zoo as a favorite hot spot, specifically the night creatures exhibit. What better way to cool off after a day at the zoo? Jerry's Sno Cones, of course.
