Tech901 will offer industry recognized computer hardware, network, and security certifications this summer at the FedEx Institute of Technology. Tech901 hears Memphis industry demand for these hard skills, and they are a complement to any college degree and career.

CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Security+ will be offered during two summer sessions at The University of Memphis’ FedEx Institute of Technology. A+ will be a four-week course offered during Summer Session I. Network+ and Security+ will each be two-week courses offered during Summer Session II.

CompTIA A+ is a computer hardware certification recognizing a foundational competency in hardware, networking, and security. Ideal candidates are seeking broad foundational knowledge in an array of computer and mobile competencies. There are no pre-requisites for this course. Therefore, it is a great starting point for a college student with information systems knowledge to add a hard skill to their degree, a job-seeker who wants to be credentialed in the information industry, or a high school student interested in technology to add to their qualifications.

Network+ and Security+ are globally industry recognized certifications in information technology. The average earning potential of a Network+ certified individual is estimated at $70,000 and that of Security+ certified individual at over $84,000. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects information technology employment will, “grow 12 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations.”

Access to these lucrative careers is available through Tech901’s tuition-free courses. Course materials and exam fees are not included. The rosters are set for this summer’s courses, but stay tuned for future course offerings or e-mail info@tech901gamma.wpengine.com.
